Central Body

Plots generated by the 3D-viewer are calculated regarding to a central body , shown in the center of the plot. In the normal case the sun is selected as central body and heliocentric positions and orbits are drawn, but it is possible to specify also each other object from the current body selection as central object. In this way, it is possible to generate geocentric or other planetocentric views too.   To change the central object select 3D-Viewer->Heliocentric/planetocentric view from the main menu. The Central body dialog appears. Select a body from the list, click OK and all selections are retained and used for generation of a new plot.   In the following examples (1) a heliocentric, (2) a geocentric, and (3) a martiocentric view of the same orbits are shown.
