Creating a Star Chart
To create a star chart select StarChart->Create chart from the main menu or press F6. Depending on the current coordinate mode the Create star chart dialog appears in different characteristics (see below). Select the object, to which the star chart is to be centered from the Center to body list. Check the field Hold centered to make sure that the object will stay centered when the time of observation changes. In the box Field of view enter the angular extend of the celestial sphere that is to be displayed by the star chart.

Epoch The epoch of the star chart to be generated. Paths Select the bodies, whose paths are to be shown. |
Grid Select the field equatorial and/or horizontal to add the corresponding coordinate grid to the star chart. |
To change the appearance of the star chart click the Options and/or the Colors dialog. Click OK and all selections are retained and used for generation of a new star chart. The Create star chart dialog will appear each time a new ephemeris calculation is performed until it is reset or an unsupported ephemeris type is selceted. For more information, see The Star Chart .
